Cubs

The Cub Section represents the second stage in the Scouting journey. Cub Scouts
is aimed at exploration whilst having fun. In Cubs children build on the skills and
knowledge they have gained during Beavers.
The Cub journey allows children to undertake greater challenenges and also further
develop their independence. Our Cub Section caters for children between the
ages of 9-11 years.
We currently meet on a Wednesday evening in the Den. At our weekly meetings
Cubs are encouraged to take part in team building activities and also work towards
earning merit badges which they can wear proudly on their Uniform.
There are all sorts of games and fun activities which are led by our skilled Leaders
during the weekly meetings. Cub Scouts work toward developing their Scouting
skills in areas such as map reading, track and trail, first aid and camping.

Cub Scouts are encouraged to spend more time in the outdoors and also take part in a
greater number of weekend activities then the younger Beaver Section. In recent years
we have organised Summer Camps to Luxembourg and to the UK for our Cub Section.
Since the beginning of 2011 the current Cub Section have taken part in a number of hikes
in the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains. The pack also spent a weekend in Larch Hill recently
and great fun was had by all who attended.

If you are interested in becomming a Cub Leader or have a child interested in joining the
Cub Section then why not contact us for further information.
