The Beaver Section is the youngest Section in Scouting Ireland.
After a number of years of absence we set up a new Beaver
Section in Dun Laoghaire Group last September. The Beaver
Section represents the first steps on the journey into Scouting.
Our Beaver Section caters for children between the ages of 6-8 years.
We currently meet on a Monday evening in the Den from 6.30-7.45 pm.
Our weekly meetings are full of activities and our experienced Leaders
ensure that all Beavers have great fun each week. At our weekly meetings
we take part in basic Scouting activities such as knots and tent pitching.
We also have lots of arts and crafts, team games and some fun cooking
challenges. We also spend time each week learning and singing songs in
preparation for campfires on weekend activities.
The Beaver programme is based aimed at introducing younger children
to independence and team work. Most importantly Beavers is about having
fun and making new friends.
We aim to host a big activity at the end of each month. Recently we attended
the Christmas pantomine in the city centre and took a day trip to the Zoo which
an animal awareness workshop. Future activities include overnight activities
in the Den and also some camping during the Summer.
Our Beaver Section is always seeking new members and new Leaders so if
you have any Queries on this then why not drop us a mail by clicking on our Contact Us button.
